Spring Training for the Ballhawks

Op April 5th, I went to Waterfront Park to watch the Trenton Thunder take on the New Hampshire Fisher Cats. I swear that I took more pictures but, I must have accidentally deleted them. Whatever.

We arrived at the right field gate fifteen minutes before opening.

I lost photos from batting practice. This is fron Tuesday but you are going to have to take my word, the Fisher Cats were taking batting practice.

Again I don’t have a picture so I will just talk. Ie met somebody near the visiting dugout. She said she was Bens mom. i was thinking it was someone named Ben who I went to camp or school with so I said hi walked away. Then I remembered who it was. Ben Scragger has Crohn’s Disease. he has a charity called cards2kids. Basically, he takes sports cards that were donated then, he packages them and gives them away. Check it out at cards2kids.org

I went down to my usually dugout spot to collect autographs.

Sal Fasano and all of his awesomeness came over to sign.

However, I don’t think it was true but, I heard that the game was sold out. So, I left my spot and went to the bullpen.

This is Tom Signore, pitching coach for the Cats.

It is not the same baseball that he was catching there but, nonetheless, he did throw me a ball.

How did I get it? Well, it was quite simple. I was standing at the bullpen, watching Sal and the catcher. Suddenly, the coach just flipeed me that ball. Cheap? Yes. But it is still a baseball. The players lined up before the game began.

Here is a action shot of a Thunder pitcher.

Towards the end of the game, the stands were empty. The Thunder were losing and it was “cold”. I’m really weird because I was in shorts and was fine.

2012-

Very cool Harrison! I’m going to the Myrtle Beach pelicans game in a couple of days. I don’t know when, but I think I’m going to see them face the Pontanic Nationals when I’m there.
